Curlews have migrated...
My beautiful Curlews have migrated and left destined for their new homes. The name of the Curlew derives from the sound of its call, 'Coor-li' which is repeated with an accelerated tempo. The sound reflects the nature of our coastal landscape and lonely moorland.
Calling all Curlews
Curlews are such beautiful birds with their distinctive down-curved beaks and brown marbled underparts. They may arrive at their breeding grounds in early spring but three have just been made out of wire, ready to walk across the lintels of bathroom doors...always love a subtle sign for where the bathroom is.

The Lark Ascending
Welcome...I intend to update my blog whenever there is something to share about my creative influences or creations. This week I have completed an oil landscape of Mousehole Harbour which has been purchased and will be sent to its new home once the boats have been personalised with a few family names. I will be sad to see it go, as I loved the reflections in the water, but I know it is going to a home where it will be loved.
