Starling Murmuration
Watching the Starlings settle over the reed beds at Ham Wall, near Glastonbury was a memorable sight. Stood to the side of my mother who has engaged me with nature since I was born, made it all the more memorable. They appeared to be connected together, twisting and turning forming marks of punctuation in the sky. How do thousands of birds tightly flying together all seem to turn simultaneously? Inspiration from this has seen the development of an oil painting on wood depicting the scene with the quietly setting sun.
